Back up and running
We are back up and running at the Mississippi Weber household! Our AC got fixed today and it is pumping some great cool air into the house! So glad the part did not come in on Thursday.. that would have been a long wait. The guy even called to ask what I wanted him to set the AC on so it would be cool for me and little man when we got home! We are so thankful that Dr. is able to pick up extra shifts when things like this happen. We miss daddy when he has to work over the weekends since that is the only time he gets to see us but we know he is hard at work making sure we are taken care of. Dr. has the first two weeks of September off but he has already picked up about 6 shifts to work during his vacation!
It is ashame that today was Monday. Chuckers showed off while company was here and made it look like he was a good sleeper and napper. As soon as they left, he reverted to his newborn stage where he wanted to eat every 2-3 hours and then every time laid him down on his back, he would scream. Maybe we are just going through a growth spurt and I am sure being home from daycare throws him off his schedule. I think Chuck may be getting a little "mama's boy syndrome". He has started to whine when I go behind the shower curtain and is also starting to be picky about who puts him to bed. I am glad he goes to daycare and doesn't have mommy doing everything for him. Chuck rolled over for the second time today.... no I didn't get it on video because I didn't think he would do it because he was so tired. We have also been working extremely hard on sitting up by ourselves and we are making huge progress!!!!
Like I said, Dr. has picked up some shifts so it looks like he will be working Friday through Monday. I will have a long weekend due to Labor Day so the Chuckman and I might go to Mobile or Mobile may come to us so we won't be alone for four days while daddy brings home the bacon.

What a weekend!
Well, we had an exciting weekend. We rolled over for the first time from our back to our stomach!!!! The doctor said it would happen in the 5th month and we did it at 5 months and 4 days! We didn't get it on video because mom just didn't think he would actually do it. He hasn't done it again so it may be a while before the video shows up here on the blog!
We also had some company. Marmee, Poppy, Two Mommy, and Paka Nick drove all the way from Texarkana to visit us for a night. We had so much fun! It took a little while to get used to the crowd but by the end we were laughing and smiling like crazy. Chuckmiester ate dinner as late as he could so he could take a bath and have our good night bottle later and spend more time with everyone. We may have waited a little bit too long because we fell asleep while Poppy was burping little man!

Marmee is so much fun.

These people wear me out!!
On a much different note, our AC also broke. Luckily, it shuts down right before it over heats so once it cools down, I can turn it back on. So, I am supposed to check the AC every 30 minutes ( um, WHAT!!) just to make sure the fan hasn't stopped spinning. The part is ordered. It could be anywhere from Monday to Thursday before it comes in. We will just turn the AC off during the day while we are gone and turn it on at night. Chuckster wouldn't go to sleep tonight because he was uncomfortable. He finally went to sleep three hours late once the air was back on and it had cooled off a little bit.
Anyways, thats that. Adios for now.

Busy Tizzy
Those are the words to describe this week. School started for the students on Monday. We are going to have quite a year! Oh boy.... Is is possible to send a child to in school suspension the first day of school... I am afraid if I did, he would be there all year.
So anyways, Monday was ok... I guess. Dr. has been working nights all week. While I was home on Monday night with the Chuckman, he had a small fever of about 100.8... I think... so tired I don't even know anymore. Then the next morning he woke up with 102 fever. It was only my second day of school... what was I going to do?????? I called Dr. at work and we decide I would take him to daycare hoping the fever would go away. After thinking it through a little bit I decided against that option and paced back and forth in my kitchen for 20 minutes. I was thinking about calling our neighbor Ginger to sit for 3 hours and getting my pregnant friend Akisha to sit the other 3 hours while Dr. slept because he had to go to work that night. Well, a text comes in from Akisha and her water has broken and she is on her way to the hospital. The more I think about it, Ginger goes to bed at about 4 am and there is no way she would be able to pull a 9 hour shift with a baby especially since she has never had a child. So... I make the big call. I call the babysitters that are 3 hours away. So the phone rings in Mobile at 6:45 in the morning. To my surprise people are already stirring and starting their day.
"I have a problem.... Chuck has 102 fever and I don't have a babysitter."
"We will be there in 3 hours."
Phew... Chuck is so very special that he got babysitters from 3 hours away for the last two days. Thank you Bob Bob and Granna for making the trek and taking care of little man while Dr. slept. Texarkana...... be glad you just got back from Hot Springs or it might have been your phone ringing!!
Well at the time I called Mobile, I had 20 minutes to get to school and I still had a baby. So, little man and I drive to the hospital, I take him in his car seat and his daycare bag to the emergency room. Boy was Dr. surprised to see me!!!! It was 7:02 and he is "officially" off at 7:00 and I have to be at school at 7:20 or I get written up. I walk in and ask someone where Dr. is. He peaks around the corner and all I can say is "here, can you take him, my parents will be here in three hours, bottles are in the bag, i will call you later." So the Chuckster was probably the first baby to attend sign outs in the UMC ER. He didn't make a peep and listened intently... already beginning his medical training.... what a smart guy.
As I back, I wonder if Chuck has learned, already at this young age, how to play hooky because by 10 o'clock that morning, not a single sign of fever. Thanks Chuckmiester, make mama look like she cried wolf. Oh well, he had a good time staying home from day care and get lots of extra lovin'. He is totally fine except for that runny nose that has returned.
I don't think I have ever been so happy that Friday was here. He better not wake up with a fever tomorrow morning. That child is going to day care! Now that he is asleep for the night, I might just join him.

Some days, Sundays.......
Some days, Sundays just don't turn out like you plan. I think little man is feeling a little under the weather today. He woke up this morning stuffy-nosed ( We just got over it, right?). We were doing great until we woke up from an afternoon nap screaming. Finally, he fell asleep on mama's shoulder but then woke up every ten minutes screaming. Gave his body a once over, couldn't find anything wrong. Maybe its just a little upset stomach.
I decided to change his diaper and in the middle he fell asleep on his changing pad. So, I let the child sleep on his changing pad. Call me a bad mom, but the kiddo got another 30 minutes of sleep and I just stayed in his room and hung black out material in his windows.

He wasn't excited about dinner tonight either if you can tell from the pic .... could have cared less about the sweet potatoes. He just kind of sat there and looked at me like he had no idea who I was. Who would refuse sweet potatoes or refuse to smile at mom?
Well, he is down for the night or should I say he is down for "right now".... two hours later than usual. Let us just pray that he has a good night of sleep since it is my first day with my students tomorrow. It would be nice to be good and rested! Alright, I am off to ironing my outfits for the week. Cross your fingers I get all the smart ones and none of the "drive the teacher crazy" ones!

TGIF
Well, since we have been back at school, we have found a significant amount of mold or mildew in our classrooms on our 2nd grade hall. We cleaned it all off our desks, chairs, and doors about 2 weeks ago and we found that on Thursday that it had already grown back. My concern was that the air quality was not good for me or my students and much less the spores I am brining home on my clothes were not good for Chuck. The air quality was tested today and we will get results back sometime in the next 24 hours to see if we have to move out of our rooms. I am hoping we do not have to move out for longer than a week because I am not in the mood to take down everything I have put up, wasting all the hot glue sticks I have used and all the bulletin board paper I have bought. I am hoping it is something that can be fixed with some diligent cleaning, a change of ceiling tiles, and a filter in our AC vents. It is so wet in our classrooms that name tags are not sticking and new bulletin boards will not stay up.
On a happier note, Chuck went to bed last night at 5 and he slept until 12 midnight at which time I gave him his cereal bottle and he went back to sleep and slept until 6 am. Yes, it is true, I got some sleep last night. If you want to call us after 4:30, please DO NOT call the house phone ...769 number... and please call our cell phones... if we don't answer the cell phones we are probably giving a bottle or rocking little man to sleep or possibly using the restroom! We will get back to you. The main reason we have the home phone is for our alarm system. Anyways, this weekend, I am going to add in a cereal bottle first thing in the morning followed by a little breakfast of fruit at the next feeding. I have been waiting to add those until a time when I could be with him and gauge his eating schedule as it changes.
Tomorrow, Dr. has to work so Chuck will join me at a baby shower. When Dr. gets home tonight, I am going to make midnight run to the grocery store to get ingredients for the cucumber sandwiches I have never made, and to get some fruit to dump in a bowl and make it seem like I cut it up for a fruit salad.
Tonight we tried some green beans. I think we can go ahead and put them in the same category as the chicken. We are also VERY close to rolling over. For some reason, I can't get the sound of the rolling over video to work but it doesn't matter, he wasn't talking or anything. Happy Friday everyone.
