Computer time

Nothing better than computer time with daddy.

Daddy's almost done!

I guess it is almost official. They took their senior pictures about a week ago! Keep thinking about Dr. He takes his yearly "Big Ol' Test" on Tuesday. Luckily he has had all of February to study but I think he is a walking stress ball right now. I think his goal is to make the highest score. He missed the highest score by two points last year.

Conversations

Of course, Chuck and I have had many conversations but tonight we had a real one that consisted of words that I never really noticed he knew but I guess he does. We were looking at a book today and it is an "eye spy" book.

Me: Do you see the house?
Chuck: Yeah
Me: Where is it?
Chuck: ( looking all over the page) I don't know.
Me: It's over on this side of the page.
Chuck: There ( pointing to the house)

Now that right there fellows is a three word sentence. Looks like we are moving up in the world. It is not very often that we can't understand what he is saying. Oh, and he is actually saying "yes" now. This is great because he used to only say "no" and if he meant "yes" then he would just be silent. So no "no" meant "yes". Now "yeah" means "yes".

Also, today we purchased our tickets for the blue car giveaway. We were so close last year to winning a blue car that we thought we would try again this year. All money goes to the children's hospital here so it is a win/win situation. The drawing is March 24th ( what a great birthday present that would be for Chuck!)

We are planning another trip to Tyler during my spring break. It seems as though we have our mortgage figured out and have a list of houses to see so "operation pick up and go, again" may be underway in the near future. We have found a lot of great houses. We have been seeing money signs with the future increase in Dr.'s pay but we have roped ourselves back in and made more realistic decisions and have narrowed that list down a bit!

We have had some lookers and come the 3rd week in March, we will have all the new residents coming through so our hopes for selling the house are still so high!

I promise I will get pictures on here soon, or a nice little video.

ONIM ( Oh No It's Monday)

As soon as I felt I was caught up with everything and almost ahead of the game, it has all exploded. First, Samer's chaotic tree climb started it all. Tonight at 6:00, our realtor called and said someone wanted to see the house at 6:30. WHAT!!!! They had been looking at houses all day and decided they needed to up their budget so the realtor ( who has been to our house with another client) said that they needed to see ours.

We did a quick 30 minute clean. We were in complete overdrive because our house still had tons of wet towels, wet clothes, and jackets from the animal rescue. Of course we spend our weekends cleaning up stuff right when Chuck stops playing with it but we were having trouble keeping up with him today. We had the oven on self clean mode and the house reeked. We were able to get the house looking pretty spiffy. Drew took half of the house, I took the other half, and we just went room to room while we let Chuck vacuum. I'm not kidding. He was on vacuum duty and was told to vacuum the hall, and he did.

So, yes, we are glad someone came and looked but we had a pretty crazy weekend. I think these people will like our house because if they have been looking at houses since 10 this morning and finally decided they needed to up their budget, then our house will look like heaven compared to what they have seen today!

I also wanted to apologize for all the typos, all the time. I usually type on my phone while the Chuckster is playing in the tub.

And now it's almost Monday. I must go do work and iron. Happy Monday.

Oh Samer...

Our weekend hasn't been as relaxing as we thought it was going to be. What a perfect day to curl up and lay around playing with toys.

Well, well, well.

Yesterday when I was leaving to get Chuck from school, I heard this cat meowing and whining. I can tell Samer's whine anywhere! I ran around trying to find him but couldn't because of Ginger's dogs barking at me. I asked her to put the dogs up and continued my mission. Actually, Molly led mestraight to Samer. About 40 feet in the air in a tree.

When the neighbors heard me calling and talking to him, about three different ones came out and told me they had been hearing him for a couple of days. Great. I don't make a mark in my calendar everytime I see him. Maybe I should.

Luckily he was over a house, but also not lucky because it was kind of in the way. The owners weren't home and we got some ladders with the help of Ginger and two other neighbors our age. One actually is a host on Mississippi Outdoors. It a girl. She had all kinds of ropes and hooks and things to try and pull this branch down. She even climbed a 20 foot ladder trying to get Samer to walk to her. Still no luck. The only thing that was accomplished was that Chuck swept the neighbors deck.

We had to leave Samer in the tree over night ( not that it was his first) because it was getting too dark. We just prayed that the storm would hold off.

The only idea we could come up with was to raise a basket up. Chuck and I were at Lowes by 8 and we had daddy on the roof by 8:30 raising a basket. ( our neighbor probably wants to hurt us .... Bad.... For being on her roof that early!)

Chuck and I stood in the rain and I called Samer. He tested the basket ( with Tuna in it). But wouldn't get in. So we untied the basket ( after he attempted a few times) and tied a laundry basket on. Dr. probably was on the roof holding a basket up In a tree for a total of 2 1/2 hours in cold pouring rain. Chuck was a trooper and got soaked and had tone changed about three times so he wouldn't be cold. He actually enjoyed painting the tree with water.

Eventually we had to tie the basket off and hope he would get in it. We were keeping an eye on him from the den window so we were going to run out and lower him down if we didn't see him anymore o if he wasn't in the basket we would know he had fallen.

So at this point, the storm was really moving in. The whole street was getting worried. We finally got in touch with our friends across the street. He had an even bigger ladder. Dr. and Blake propped a long ladder ( even longer that the 20 ft one we used) from the slanted roof to the tree. Yikes. Dr. held it and Blake climbed. Blake grabbed the cat behind his neck and all of a sudden froze. He had no idea what to do next. Dr. insisted he throw the cat to the roof. That he did and then he threw it from the roof to a neighbor who brought him home.

After being so wet and wind blown this cat is extra fluffy. He has a pretty good nurse to who is insisting Samer have a bowl of food and a spoon to eat with.

Can't wait to see what Sunday brings... Besides Dr's birthday!

Resignation

Chuck is really getting spoiled with all the time his daddy has had off. Dr. will still be around a lot through the end of March. I am so thankful for that because with the house on the market, I have some help keeping everything clean.

For the month of January, I was chosen by my coworkers as Teacher of the Month. I still got it! Also, today I resigned from my job as of June 1st. I don't feel any different. Still tired, still.... yawn.

We also do not have a contract on our house. The guy wanted us to practically give him our house and we weren't really keen on that idea.

Anyways, I must go and iron ( which I absolutely LOVE to do). I am kind of hoping it will be a snow day tomorrow ( if I could just convince these streets to ice over tonight, hmm)

Drawing, Eating, and Countering

So we are still going back and forth with the potential buyer. I guess we will know next week for sure whether we need to be looking for an apartment in MS and a house in TX.

While going back and forth with counter offers, we have also been raising this goon.

Chuck enjoying his sketti a little too much.
