Yesterday I looked down and saw a big sticker on Smith's car seat that said "a child weighing more than 22lb should never ride in this seat". Needless to say, Smith got a big boy seat yesterday. Just like his brother.
Smith celebrated 7 months on July 20th (while Bob Bob celebrated his birthday!) Can you believe Smith is almost a year old! Time really flies!

Working on that crawling

What my bed looks like in the morning
Smith is keeping me on my toes. Sometimes he wakes up in the early morning hours and is hungry. Sometimes he's not. Sometimes he naps and other days he doesn't sleep at all. Some mornings he wakes at 2am and stays up the rest of the day and sometimes he will go back to sleep. Just rolling with whatever he decides to dish out for the day.
The pediatrician said he wanted Smith on mashable foods. He can get it to his mouth every once in awhile. Most of the time I have to put it in. He of course has been eating puffs and yogurt melts that are made to melt in the babies mouth. He has also had mango, beets, sweet potato, cantaloupe and scrambled eggs! He gets so excited and grabs your hand and shovels the food in! He is also doing great with his sippy cup. The pediatrician said 6 oz of water or juice a day is fine.
Smith eating cantaloupe and eggs and using his sippy cup!
Woooo weeee. We made it home from the lake after 6 days! Day one was full of whining so I wasn't sure how we were going to make it.
Smith took a dip in the lake but it was a bit chilly and I didn't want to force him into the water.
Chuck was obsessed with the paddle and wore his turtle float almost 24/7.
Dr. had a trot line that he checked everyday. He hooked a huge soft shell turtle and some alligator gar.
Chuck has been talking about flippers since swim lessons started. He was beside himself when Marmee showed up with some. He wore them the ENTIRE time. Tricky, I know.
Smith had fun and tried a variety of food, including ribs.
One of the best days was when Marmee filled up a swimming pool of water balloons. Amazing.
Of course we were fed well thanks to the planning a of Marmee. The Missouri Webers are always the ones in charge of sweets. This "made- from-scratch-cake" was delicious!
Chuck enjoyed floating on all the tubes that go behind the boat. When not in use, they are tied to the dock for the littles to play with.
Chuck also faced his fears and jumped from the dock instead of a step on the ladder!
6 days wore us all out. Chuck was refusing to bathe, eat, and nap and ended up totally breaking down. It's good to be home and have everyone back on their routine. On the way home Chuck asked if he could play with all his toys for a long time.
