Playpen

Livin' it up in his new "room".

Playing football with daddy.

Trying to win an award for the farthest a bottom lip can stick out.

Playing so hard our feet came out of our jammies.

The Animal Has Been Caged

Not permanently! Chuck is trying to pull up constantly and is crawling. We thought this would be a good idea. It will definitely help me out in the mornings. The only way I had to constrain him while I warmed up the car in the mornings was the high chair. Now he can use the gate to pull up as mush as he wants ( he has currently been standing for about ten minutes while playing with one hand.) I am going to get a small extension so that the playpen is the same size as the rug that we play on anyways! That means we can fit inside too! I think Molly is a little disappointed because normally she plays with us on the floor.

It's tough being 9 months old

Chuck was tuckered out today after the doctor's office. He fell asleep on the couch and Dr. didn't want to try and move him to his crib for fear he would wake up. He slept on daddy's arm for 2 hours. We almost had to amputate Dr.'s arm due to lack of blood flow. ( See the cut on his eye? It happened Thursday at daycare. One of the other boys did it. I am guessing he probably deserved it.)

We will try and get a better picture next time of Chuck being a stegosaurus and getting his medicine.

9 month check up

Chuck had his 9 month check up today. He was supposed to get one shot. He was unable to get his shot because he didn't feel well. Daddy picked him up from daycare around 10:30. Chuck weighs 23 pounds and his weight, height, and head are all in the 90th percentile. So our whole body goes together! We don't have a mini head or over sized head and we aren't short and fat! I told everybody he was going to take after our Weber guys. Tall boy taking after his daddy and granddaddy.

He did get put on a nebulizer and doesn't mind it a bit. His mask looks like a stegosaurus and he just sits there and breathes it in. No worries. What a big boy. He got tested for RSV and they looked at his blood cell count ( or something like that) and they all came back negative so we are in the clear!!!

"Big" winter storm headed our way on Saturday night. Maybe I won't have school Monday. Maybe.

We Can Crawl!!

Coupe cures the Croup

No pics this go round. Just a little update. Chuck slept relatively well last night. We had planned on Dr. picking Chuck up from daycare after his lecture. However, I woke Chuck up this morning and took him into our bedroom ( like I do every morning) so he could drink his bottle. I walk into the room and Dr. sits up in bed and Chuck just starts smiling and laughing and then talking.... nonstop..... so he spent the day at daycare.

Dr. says croup is always the worst on the third day. I think Tuesday night and Wednesday must have been his "third" day. I was at the point of breakdown because I felt so bad for junior. It seems as though he is feeling better. He played in the Crazy Coupe car when he got home from daycare ( and mama wasn't looking and he fell out of it but was chipper and kept going). He also practiced pulling up and did so about 20 times (and 20 times may be low balling it!). Talk about repetitive.

Chuckmiester is snug in his bed. He is going to his 9 month check up tomorrow with his daddy so my guess on his weight is right at 25 pounds. He only has to have one shot tomorrow so I am sure he is not as nervous as the past doctor visits.

Nighty night!

The croup?

Maybe. Not sure, but this poor guy just won't stop coughing. Last night, we had to sit in a tent full of humidifier mistiness(?) from 1am-3am. It was a blast and made for an interesting day! Luckily Dr. has a flexible schedule. He has lecture tomorrow morning, but will go pick this baby boy up from daycare after lecture.

It broke my heart today when I picked up Chuck and he immediately fell asleep in the car seat. He took a little nip-nap on my chest when we got home. He did wake up and eat some dinner and then had a bath but can you believe he went back to sleep on my chest RIGHT after the bath while he was still wrapped in a towel and we were still sitting on the stool in the bathroom. He just wouldn't pick that head up. The lip is out farther than it has ever been and when you talk to him he looks at you like he is too tired to even listen to you. We have gotten one smile out of him but it vanished very quickly. I think he may have even been too tired to cry.

So please keep our little Chuckster in your thoughts as we get through this coughiness(?). Hopefully, last night and today were the worst days. He has been sleeping good so far tonight with some Vicks Baby Rub on his chest and the humidifier ( which I am sure has soaked his bed by now). Send good dreams his way. This precious boy could use them.

Kisses from all of us and a little cough from Chuck.

Cozy Coupe

We have been waiting for a day that Dr. had off so he could put together Chuck's new car. I knew there was no way it was going to take as long as it took my brother to put together Abby's. Who was I kidding. I think it took a good two hours. Unfortunately, the stomach bug that I had must of hit Dr. He was bed bound today. If it hadn't of been for the car, I might have gone crazy. I think I probably pushed Chuck around for a total of 2 hours running "errands" around the house. He wouldn't let me take a shower because the car wasn't moving. At least I got the laundry done.

This is a picture of Chuck waiting patiently for daddy to put his car together!
