Spring Break begins.

Well the first night of Spring Break is over (thank goodness!). Last night, Smith cried all night and Chuck had a nightmare and then later teeteed in the bed.

Luckily we had a birthday party to distract us today. You guessed it.... Another bounce house party.

This is birthday season for us and there are very few birthday places in Tyler. Since we've already been to five parties at the bounce house place Chuck is having his at the Science Museum. It is definitely not anywhere close to any other science museum I've been to. After going you usually consider soaking in Clorox but for some reason the kids LOVE it. So here is the invitation to Chuck's bug party. If you read this blog then you are obviously invited. (Although the other day Dr. Informed me that no one reads the blog.). So to my three faithful readers....

Made it!

Phew! School starting late turned into a snow day! Eek! Luckily the gym was open and I have 4 wheel drive (yes, on my Buick) and the boys were able to play while I had some mommy time. I got on that treadmill and ran like Forrest Gump. I just kept running. Felt good and rejuvenated me mentally and physically.

The housekeeper was here today so Chuck and I went grocery shopping while Smith napped.

The three of us then invited ourselves over to my friends house. She is the one married to the cardio thoracic surgeon and has a little boy a month older than Chuck. They live the same life as us. Their daddy is never home for dinner and is not there on the weekends. So whenever we have odd play times we know they are available to play. (Like playing at 8am on a Sunday morning.... Totally normal for us.)

Smith is at the point that he really recognizes things. He is currently obsessed with Mickey Mouse. The boys got a singing Mickey for Christmas and Smith has played with it so much that it doesn't dance anymore, just sings. Anyway, we walked into my friends house and the first thing Smith sees is the fountains in the pool. He pointed and did this huge surprise sound. His mouth and eyes were wide open. It was hysterical but probably exactly what I looked like when I first saw their house!

Can you believe I took no pictures today....

Snow Day

We were trapped inside today. Chuck ventured outside at least 6 times today to explore. Dr. got to play for a few minutes. No snowballs or snowmen because everything was just big sheets of ice. Smith watched them play outside.

Smith would have played outside too but his legs didn't quite fit in his boots.

I really didn't expect an ice storm. I thought it would be cold and rainy. I was not prepared for a three day weekend (food or activities!).

Smith has been crabby lately (teeth?.... Since we should have 10 more than we do). We did every activity imaginable today just to keep Smith happy.

We played with our Easter eggs.

Made a squishy bag with water, cornstarch, and little things to squish around.

Played with Easter grass and painting sponges.

Practiced sliding on our tummies around the house.

Tried on superhero masks.

We even drove around the neighborhood. I told them we were looking for snowmen. In reality I was just trying to buy 10 minutes of no whining. Chuck fell for it..... Smith did not.

Tomorrow school starts two hours late.

Winter Storm

It sprinkled all morning and kept us inside.

By lunch it was still sprinkling so I took the boys to the mall to ride the quarter rides, get a cookie, and pick up free balloons from Old Navy.

We came home and within 30 minutes it started pouring down ice! We are now pretty much iced in. Luckily our balloons kept us busy and we had a few car races.

Chuck's school starts two hours late tomorrow. I doubt we will be able to get out of the driveway. It's not supposed to get above freezing until around noon and there is a good 1/2 inch if slouch on the driveway that will freeze nicely.
