Sniffles

Well it is true... the Mississippi Weber clan are all under the weather. Chuck and Dr. came down with the sniffles and runny nose/cough first. Chuck woke up yesterday with red watery eyes and was having problems drinking his bottle ( and still is) because of the stuffiness. After a long night last night, ( which included mom and Chuck having to sleep sitting up so Chuck could breathe, and an occasion of vomiting because the congestion made him gag) mom is now an innocent victim of the yuckiness. Luckily, all the stuffiness is visiting over the weekend which means no one is missing already paid for daycare or work. I had great ambitions to get all the laundry done and the house vacuumed, but really who was I kidding anyway. Today, will now be a pajama day for mom and Chuck while Dr. saves the lives of our fellow Jacksonians. I will worry about the laundry and house over Thanksgiving break.

This whole raising a child thing really messes with my OCD, organization, planning problem .... I am tolerating it and think I am adjusting quite well.

Now, this gal is going to try and lay down while the little squirt is napping. ( Oops, I hear some stirring.... I think I just jinxed myself. That's ashame.)

I'm done

Stick a fork in me....

I have almost made it through this week. This week of all weeks is the worst. Monday, we had "data inquiry" where they come in and go through all your files to make sure you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Everything went well. For my first nine weeks test, about 50% of my kids are usually passing each subject at the first 9 weeks but this year all of my kids passed reading, language, and math. So we are 100% passing which we never even get to by the end of the year. Phew, this whole mama thing, I guess, has made me work smarter this year.

Tomorrow, I have my observation where the principal sits in my class for an hour. I hope things go well. I keep telling myself that if things don't go well, there is not much you can do to me with my scores looking like they look. Our second grade actually out scored all others in the district! Yehaw!

So as of today: Thanksgiving break is almost one week away, Chuck is currently working on getting four teeth to break through ( can we say grumpy.... really sweet grumpy if there is such a thing), and Dr. is back in the ER ( thought we would never see the light of day again). That is about all that is going on in the Weber household..... oh and Samer is eating anything that he can find that is made out of plastic.

Yep, 7:15, I am headed to bed.... not kidding.... night y'all.

Home At Last

Although we had a wonderful trip to Texarkana for Chuck's baptism, we are so glad to be back. I am not sure who is happier. Mom or Chuck?!? Chuck is so excited to be back in his own bed. Don't get me wrong, Marmee and Poppy's house is tons of fun but nothing is like our own bed. Chuck did not sleep through the night once we got home last night but I really think he was happy. When he did wake up, he turned on his wonderful music box that he listens to when he falls asleep in the crib. I am happy to be back home and get back on a schedule because I do not do whiny and whiny is exactly what we had. He had a whiny day at daycare but is now sleeping soundly in his comfy bed.

I did learn some things on this trip. 1. Reassess packing abilities. After listening to the frog go ribbit for 2 hours, I was about to jump ship. However, I am not sure if the frog was better than the cow mooing that we got to listen to on the way there. 2. My child is a lot smarter then I thought. Apparently, the curriculum at school has taught him to wave. ( This was confirmed last night when I walked into our bedroom with him to get a bottle and he saw his daddy and smiled and started waving at him) 3. Always do laundry before you leave because nothing is better then unpacking your bags straight into a drawer. 4. We really need to figure out where we are going to move.... like now. 5. You will never get all your thank you notes written. 6. Staycation doesn't seem like a bad idea after all. 7. Attachment issues can start at any age, we just happened to be stumbling upon them a little later than others. and 8. what is this "you can rest when your dead" stuff.... I am tired NOW.

If you haven't seen the pictures from the service, Aunt Koko ( also Chuck's lovely godmother) has put some great pictures up. Check them out here.

Drew is working until 2 AM tonight so this big mama is going to call it a night. "I can clean when I'm dead" ... right?
