Crying and Whining

Well, we made it to the museum, home for lunch and then shopping. We ran into Chuck's friend a the museum that we barbecued with so that was nice for both of us. We got to chat and play with people our own age.

Smith got a little rowdy at the end so we headed home with a little detour for a happy meal.

Since the boys only napped for about 5 minutes in the car, I decided to get my errands done.

It was Chuck's first time at a mall and he was mesmerized. We rode some rides while we were there.

We had to go get Smith some jammies and clothes. Smith is at a totally different stage than Chuck was in the size vs season so is hurting a little bit with clothes. Smith is starting to wear what Chuck wore near his 1st birthday but that would have been March. It's just not working.

I think we are going to have to look into shoes soon for Smith. He isn't very good at crawling but works on standing up all the time. Even wanted to walk around the museum while holding both my hands. Chuck didn't walk until we got him a solid pair of shoes.

I always have high hopes of a good night of sleep after no naps but it usually turns out the opposite and means they are both going to wake up all night long. Nothing unusual for our house this week.

So today even though it seems like we did a lot, I had one crying the majority of the time and one whining. This totally describes our day.

Hope your day turned out better than ours.

No sleep. What gives?

I don't know what I did to piss off this baby but he hasn't slept in three nights and hasn't napped in three days and wiped poop all over his crib for the second time. I really do have a grumpy baby.

At 4 am I finally moved Chuck to the guest room and let the baby cry so I could get a few hours of sleep.

I may be an idiot but we are going to *try to go to the museum because it is free and if I stay in this house it might be an invitation for complete disaster. (The key word is TRY as I haven't showered or brushed my teeth in a few days.)

Wish us luck.

Fall "Fetibal"

I don't know if I have mentioned it, but I am in charge of Fall Festival this year. And I mean in charge of everything from raising the money to finding the food, getting the games and activities together, and collecting things for the silent auction. I was a little worried about raising money but we have almost $3,000 in hand and have a few more checks on the way. We advertise for businesses by making banners as well as accept gifts from individual families.

Last year after selling tickets and doing the auction and raising money through sponsorships, we made about $5,500. Here's hoping we hit that or get close, I don't want my year to look dinky!

Today the shipment of 229 cans of silly string arrived! Chuck was a little excited and said that he can't wait until Fall "Fetibal"!

Labor Day

Today we finished up our weekend with a play date and BBQ. We went to the house of a little boy that was in Chuck's old class. He is a year younger but they played so well together. Apparently the little boy has had some hard times with not having Chuck in the class anymore.
So they just invited us over to play. They said they wanted to get to know us too.... :)

We actually had a great time. These were the most down to earth people we have met in Tyler. We had only met the husband once and I had talked with the mom a few times. They also have a 3 month old.

Chuck did not get a nap today so was pretty tired when we left and shed some tears. Smith did not nap today either (I need a stiff drink) but was a trooper and didn't pitch a fit even though it was an hour and a half past bedtime!

Time to go back to school tomorrow. Everyone should be worn out from this weekend; I know I am exhausted.

Smith has started to spend his day working on pulling up.

He has so started feeding himself.

Circus

Since Dr is home, I am taking full advantage of it :). The Shriners circus was in town. Chuck has been asking to go to a circus so what a perfect day to go! Both of the boys loved it. It was not as fancy as Barnum and Bailey but so worth not having to drive to Dallas.

Quite possibly our first family of four photograph.

Chuck spotting the cotton candy while drinking his snow cone.

Smith was very interested in everything.

It was nap time and he stayed awake as long as he could. The one and only explosion in the entire show woke him up.

This one held on as long as he could. Two minutes in the car was too much.
