Here is a picture of Smith from a couple of days ago. I keep forgetting to take pics of him because he doesn't do much :). He is about to out grow his 3 month jammies. In this pic he is in a 6 month onsie!

Dad will get home while we are sleeping tonight! We didn't venture outside today because it was pretty chilly! We played some super heroes, cooked a pot of spaghetti and watched The Lorax.

Chuck wanted to use his tongs so I got out two bowls and some big glass rocks and let him transfer them. I put some paper in the bowl so it wouldn't be so loud when he dropped them in it.

We also got out the button snake. It is a ribbon that you see a button onto. Then we have some felt that you cut a slit in just big enough for the button. It just helps you to learn how to work a button.

It took Chuck a little while to get the first one on. When he did he walked away. I left it out and didn't say a word. He felt like it was too hard. About an hour later he walked up to it and tried again and this time did three squares.

Chuck also worked on the color matching that I had worked on a couple of weeks ago. He really liked doing this!

Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party in which I will have to explain to Chuck why it's not his birthday and why he doesn't get any presents. Always interesting. It is also supposed to be a little warmer so that will be wonderful.

Power outage

Had a little power scare tonight! Power went off at 6. I had just run chuck's bath so threw him in because I only had about 30 minutes of light left. He thought it was pretty cool to take a candlelit bath. While he was playing, I packed a bag of diapers and pajamas and a sound machine. I knew I had limited time of light and also knew that there was no way I could pack in the dark. My plan was to head to a hotel by 9 if the power was still off. It is supposed to be 30 degrees tonight.

After Chuck got out of the bath and dressed, my phone died. We were about to lose all light so I decided I would drive around while my phone charged, chuck watched a movie, and Smith would be rocked to sleep. Monster baby was having a field day with the power outage and was screaming at the top of his lungs the whole time (because that's what we do when the clock hits 6 o'clock).

Just as I was about to get a change of clothes for myself the power came back on! Someone was looking out for me. I didn't know how the hotel stay would go with me and two kids. I was trying to stay calm and not think of the disaster this could be! I also thought about sending Chuck to spend the night with his teacher!

Dad gets back late night tomorrow. We have a birthday party to go to Sunday afternoon so we will get to meet some people!

Monday I will call to schedule Chuck's birthday (hopefully March 23rd).

Batman

Like I said Chuck won't go potty at school. Today he poopied in the potty 3 times (that's what black beans will do to you) and had a dry diaper the whole day.

He knew if he poopied in the potty that he could go shopping for batman....

Vacuums

The vacuum is running and I'm not the one running it. The house seems so much cleaner when I'm not the one cleaning it. She was even in my tub cleaning the little jets out!

I did do dishes and helped her make the bed so I'm not totally slacking!

The neighbors are moving March 5th and I'm kinda looking forward to it! :)

I'm drinking coffee. I'm ok! Last night was a little overwhelming. Smith wanted to scream for what seemed like forever. When Smith cries, Chuck kind of gets jumpy. Then it took a gazillion hours for Chuck to clean up his toys. The kid is SO slow. At one point when he was "cleaning", I walked into his room. He was lying on his bed with his feet up in the air drinking a juice box. He's doing good at not complaining about picking up but, for goodness sake, it should not take an hour!

Yesterday was day three with just the three of us. So although both actually are wonderfully behaved, it just kind of starts wearing on everyone.

Chuck has been going potty at home. Over the weekend I did not change one poopy diaper! Chuck will not go at school because he is "scared". We had a good talk Sunday night about it all and yesterday he tee teed in the potty at school!!! We celebrated with a milkshake!

Chuck's class is celebrating Mardi Gras today because his teacher is from New Orleans. I delivered a king cake yesterday for them to eat. Thursday they will have their Valentine's Day party. I am in charge of the craft for their party. They are studying weather this week so I planned a sun catcher craft for them!

All you need is contact paper and tissue paper.

On one piece on contact paper I drew a heart for all the children. They will place cut up tissue paper on the heart.

Then they will place another piece of contact paper on top of the heart and cut it out.

Punch a hole in the top and hang it in the window!

Chuck will be handing out Spider-Man Valentines. We are SO into superheroes right now. He now watches Batman (1966) on TV!

This is Smith's favorite place to sleep..... Our bed. He's a side-sleeper.

The people across the street are moving. Chuck loves playing with their girls. Although we hate to see them go, we are taking their nanny/housekeeper! She is supposed to come tomorrow since the regular family will be out of town. She is having a baby soon but once the baby is here, she will be mine two days a week! That means my floors will get vacuumed! I've been doing a good job of keeping things clean. Like I said I run dishes and clothes every night and all the trash cans get emptied. I've also managed to wipe down and mop the bathrooms each night (there is potty training going on here... I have to!). If you saw how horrible of a shot Chuck has then you would clean your bathroom everyday too!

Anyways, the rest of my house will get the attention it needs like the beds, rugs, and dust. Also Smith will have a new friend to hold him. That means the gym might be in my future two days a week. I will try and do some type of exercise at home the other days..... As soon as I can wean myself off this coffee!

In the past I have given up soda for lent and lost about 7 pounds each time. I have a few hours to decide if that is what we will do. I think I need to make a trip to SAMs to pick up some green tea. We all know that the absence of caffeine will NOT be good!

5o'clock somewhere

It's five o'clock somewhere has a new meaning to me. It still makes me want to drink. It all goes to hell at 5 in our house.

I'm not going to lie. My sanity was tested today. I'm going to bed before they put me in the looney bin.

I win!1

Another day spent playing super heroes and building forts! Also some baby snuggling.

I got out my drainer for the bottles, which is a plastic thing that looks like grass. I also got out a bowl full of beads and let Chuck work on putting the beads on the spikes. (You can also get a spiky soap dish.). I worked on it with him and it takes a good amount of concentration and steadiness! It was challenging for me too! He enjoyed it and kept at it for a good bit.

Then the brothers snuggled.

I told Chuck I was really tired and I needed to close my eyes (I was being serious). He climbed up on the couch and after a little bit of playing superheroes on my head, joined me in a nap! He has not taken a weekend nap since September! What did I do to deserve this?

He has always been a good napper once he is asleep. He currently just passed the two hour mark. Bless him... And me.

I win.

Coffee

When I write book I will title it "Two Boys and a Big Gulp of Coffee".

Both boys actually slept good. Smith is still eating every two hours but he slept half the night in the bassinet. Yesterday he took a two hour nap in his crib. I guess I will call all this progress!

Even though the boys were asleep, I was awake because of a humongous storm that came through about 3 or 4. The umbrellas were out because last weekend it was warm and sunny and we needed shade. I was waiting for them to launch through the window last night. Our TV reception went out so I was having to follow update on my phone. I was worried we were going to have to get in the closet!

Both boys were ready for the day! It's beautiful outside now but the ground is soaked with two inches of rain! Chuck asked if he could play in the dirt! I mean mud! If dad was home I would probably let him because I would have an extra hand to hold baby during the cleanup!

Smith trying to hang with the big kids but not quite making it!
