Daddytime

Daddy and Chuck had some boy time today while I got to go get my hair done. ( I went even darker this time).

Chuck and I are headed home tomorrow. We are still coughing and have runny noses. I have been coughing for about 4 weeks and my upper torso and back hurt so bad I don't even know what to do except go to bed so I don't have to feel the pain.

Tomorrow is the last day with the children. I loved my class my first year teaching. Last year and this year, I am happy to see my class go. No real attachment there.

Promise I will get some cute video or pictures this weekend!

Insomnia

Well, no new pictures for you tonight but I have a flashback for you. This was Chuck one year ago. How sweet is he?! and How fast does time fly?! He doesn't look anything like he does now. I can't even tell it is the same child!

Today our big boy went and visited the one year old classroom! That means that in about 2 weeks he will be going to his new rom. When his friend Jordyn visited the new room, she cried so much they sent her back and she cried herself to sleep that day. His teacher said she walked him down there and he walked in and didn't look back. He did great and even got to play outside with his new friends. Brings tears to my eyes thinking about what a big boy he is and how he is not scared to go into a new environment with new people. What a strong guy! I am so proud of him. He really surprises me everyday. Who knew a one year old could be so smart and ok with everything.

He is still a great eater. He ate white eggplant tonight with some shrimp and ricotta cheese.

I will send an email out in a few days with our predicted travel schedule for our mini road trip that we will take in two weeks!

Love to all!

..... Just as I was about to push the button to post this, Chuck started crying.... again.... for some reason he is having problems falling asleep. I just laid in the bed with him for an hour and a half. There was lots of smiling, laughing and lots of precious cuddling. He is not doing his wide open mouth kiss anymore. He is doing closed mouth ones and making the kissing noise with it. I think I got twenty kisses in a row in about 30 seconds..... melts my heart. He is laying in his crib now but not sleeping. Must have insomnia.

Friends

I always say you can tell what someone's day is going to be like or was like by the look of their hair. I was pretty sure Chuck was going to have an interesting day after he woke up with a huge bird's nest on the side of his head that even water wouldn't slick down.

Chuck went to bed two hours late both nights this weekend. I figured he must be tired. His teacher said at one point during the day, while they were changing baby's diapers, it was somewhat quiet in the room and she thought... "I wonder what Chuck is up to, he is awfully quiet". She looks around the corner of the cribs and Chuck has taken it upon himself to curl up on the playmate and go to sleep. Sweet baby.

After school, we decided to take a dip in the pool so we texted Nellie and her brother to see if they wanted to swim. It was chilly but it didn't seem to phase anyone. They had a good time crawling back and forth between the turtle and the pool. Is the turtle ever going to get filled up with sand? We will see...

Happy Baby

At daycare, some of the mom's of the four year olds, stick their head in every morning to say hi to the babies. They call Chuck "the happy baby". They come in and say "Is the happy baby here yet?" He is pretty good at flirting. Those dimples really drive the ladies crazy.

We had our street party tonight. Chuck thinks the whole walkng/trying to run thing is just way exciting. He ran around the whole time laughing hysterically. Everyone started talking about how he is the happiest baby they have ever seen. You see...... I am very good at predicting meltdowns and making sure they happen in the privacy of our own home! Apparently, it has worked so far.

The end of the alphabet was supposed to bring a meat or a vegetable to the picnic/potluck. All of my pulled pork places were closed since it was Sunday. I didn't know what I was going to do until I saw James "The Meat" in a parking lot. Boy oh boy, I got some of his ribs and they were oh, oh good. Dr. approves of James "The Meat" and will be going back. We also took a pizza with us.

Today, Chuck ate the tomato that he picked yesterday. I reckon it had a little acid/sour taste that Chuck was not expecting.

Whenever we walk past the front door, Chuck says "Bye bye, da da." Today, daddy left to go pick up the pizza and I think Chuck really wanted to go with him.

Looking back, our weekend was pretty good considering it was just the two of us. Usually I dread the weekends because it is just me and it is more exhausting then my actual job. I think Chuck and I both enjoyed the weekend and I pretty sure we made it through without a meltdown.
