Rockin' and Rollin'

It's official... although we have been rolling over for a few weeks now, we are finally doing it every time we are laid on our back!!! Well, we do it after we finish sucking our big toe!

And so begins the sippy cup

Today marks the day that we introduced the sippy cup. We wanted Chuck to start playing with it and trying to figure it out. He has to be walking and only drink from a sippy cup to get into the one year old room so we thought it never hurts to practice. We got a training cup that has handles and a soft nipple like a bottle for him to start with. We handed it to him, he looked at it, and tipped it up and started drinking! What a smarty pants!

Chuck's day at daycare went a lot better than it did on Wednesday and Thursday. He has been getting less and less cranky the more days he is on the antibiotics. The entire Weber household got sleep last night!!!! I have ALWAYS been a morning person but I do admit that since being a mommy, it is harder and harder everyday to leave the comfiness that is my bed! I long for dates with my comforter and pillow!!!

Our Friday did start off a bit rocky this morning. I had gotten ready and woke up Chuck at 6, the usual wake up time for the little man. I always take him back to my bed and give him a bottle which is exactly what we did this morning. Then I usually go and change and dress him, I pack the car, and we leave for school. Well, this morning while partaking in a nice bottle spiked with antibiotics, the Chuckman started pushing.... yes, you know what "pushing" entails. So, after finishing the bottle, we head to the changing table to get ready to go to school and I notice that the contents of the diaper not only filled up the diaper but filled up the entire left leg of his footie pajamas....... yes, FILLED UP THE LEG of the footie pajamas. At that point in time I decided that I could not handle this alone. I woke up Dr., we had to CUT chuck's pajamas off him because there was no way to get his pajamas over his head. I wiped him off ( using a whole package of wipes) so that he was in good enough condition to get in the bath. Dr. gave Chuck a bath while I took my second bath for the day and we still made it to school on time. I guess now I know that prunes and antibiotics do not mix!

On the mend

Today, Chuckman went to daycare. He gave everyone a big smile when we walked in the room. When his teacher picked him up, he hugged her. It was the sweetest thing. They said he was a wee bit grumpy but when asked if he was really bad they said that he is so chill that anything seems bad from him and that he was ok.... I think our little man has gotten moody in the past few days. He still goes to sleep without a fight but wakes up about 20 minutes later and then just yells. In fact, he is yelling right now. I think he ( and everyone) is so tired from this past weekend and from the beginning of the week that he just doesn't know what to do. I am glad he survived at daycare because he really needs to get back to his rigid schedule so everything will be back to normal for all of us! He just finished his third day of antibiotics.

We are now a big boy! We are sitting up ..... not all by ourselves quite yet. We have changed from the baby tub to a big boy seat because we were dying to stand up in the tub. The big boy seat allows us to see what is going on and lets us splash our hands but it keeps us in one spot more than the tub did. Sorry the picture is a little blurry but aren't those little legs just adorable sticking out like that!

Sleepless in Mississippi

Dr. took Chuckster to visit the doctor yesterday. The diagnosis was exactly as Dr. had said...... Chuck has his first ear infection. He did get weighed and at 5 1/2 months our little man is not exactly little. He weighs a whopping 20 pounds! The doctor could not believe how fast he is growing. The entire time he was at the doctor, he didn't seem sick. He sat and smiled the entire time at the doctor. What a good spirit he has.

It was another sleepless night here again. The antibiotics haven't kicked in yet ( we have only given it to Chuck twice.) He isn't sleeping for more than an hour at a time and then wakes up crying. Poor guy is so stopped up, he is having trouble breathing and he is still fighting a little bit of a fever. HOpefully the antibiotics will start helping today.

Dr. will be home with him today but he goes on toxicology call tonight at 5 so if he gets called in he has to go to the hospital. We are crossing our fingers he doesn't get a call tomorrow because we aren't sure what to do with the Chuckman. We are also hoping that he will be well enough to go to daycare on Thursday because Dr. has a retreat that will last all day.

We will keep you updated on our little man!

Better?

Well, the Tylenol must be helping a little. This is the first time he has been put down all day. He has been crying everytime I put him down so we have been rocking away. He must be feeling better because he is in his "office" right now, working hard! First smile I have seen in almost a day.

Sick Baby

Looks like Chuckems is a little under the weather today. He seemed to be slowing down a little yesterday. Took a very long nap and drank all his bottles but didn't have the excitement about his bottles that he normally does. We all slept off and on last night. So far today he has been moaning ( is my child just really dramatic) and when he does finally shut his tired eyes, he only sleeps for ten minutes.

I was fighting a 24 hour tummy bug yesterday and I am guessing I passed it along. Looks like the only thing that makes it better is his daddy. Daddy is working 11 am to 11 pm today but luckily we fell asleep right after daddy left. We have been asleep for a good 30 minutes! Wish us luck! Luckily, daddy is off Monday and Tuesday.
