Members

We are officially members of the zoo! Chuck had a great time. He really loved the tigers and the bears. I was fascinated with the giraffes. Chuck did a little walking/running, a little strolling and a little carrying. It wasn't to hot at 8 this morning. We left at 11:30 and it had just started becoming noticeably hot.

We are officially members so we can go back for free for the next year! I'll definitely be looking into a membership at the Childrens Museum too!

Chuck watches the bears.

I have mad camera skills.

Chuck didn't seem to think the giraffes were cool. I'll give him credit though. It was the first animal we saw.

A white peacock? Huh?

First Haircut

Yep, Chuck got his first real haircut today. And can you believe I didn't get a picture. I was too busy holding him down. The thought of anyone touching his hair freaks him out. He will even pick my brush up and start brushing his hair and start crying. I know weird. Anyways, the haircut was long over due and now all the hairs are somewhat the same length.

Chuck is working on those molars. Ugh. Supposedly molars are the worst. You ain't seen teething until you've seen the big teeth come in.

Chuck is officially in the big boy room. You saw pictures of him eating breakfast. Apparently the child devours lunch and both snacks and acts like he hasn't eaten all day when he gets home. I am so thankful for daycare because it will truly keep Chuck nutritionally fed. It is so hard to cook everyday when Dr.'s schedule is so crazy. So much food goes to waste if I cook everyday.

My baby boy ate soft tacos, sloppy joes, pork tenderloin, ravioli, and a ham sandwich this week. That was accompanied by a fruit and a veggie every day. Today at school, they played outside, made shaving cream designs, and played with water. Half the things he does I really did not know he was capable of. I know when he gets home, he turns whiney. He has't cried all week at school and the entire time he has been at home this week he has screamed continuously. I think he is so busy at school he doesn't think about his teeth.

I am enjoying my summer. I have not relaxed yet. I spend my days doing laundry, working out, washing dishes and vacuuming. I am actually having fun keeping our house clean. It takes me all day to keep it clean. I do not know how I functioned this year. I guess I didn't. We would have dirty dishes covering every table top in our house and laundry piled in every corner.

All of our friends have packed and moved on. Our last ones ( and most special ones) pack up and leave Tuesday morning and are headed to Savannah. We have a couple of friends that aren't graduating yet and luckily, I have become very good friends with the people across the street. Chuck is just a month older than Nellie so we play a lot together.

Tomorrow we will be going to the zoo with Nellie and her parents. Drew has to work this weekend. Can't wait for July to roll around. I think Drew is being abused this month but he has only 4 more days. He may even get his MS medical license soon which means he can start moonlighting! I know he is excited about that.

Oh, Can you believe that the Chuckster is 15 MONTHS today! And not just 15 months but 15 months of ..... a lot of things.

Don't know if I have mentioned this story but:

The other night when Chuck was eating dinner, Samer started sharpening his claws on Chuck's toy box. I told Samer, "No, No Samer, No". Chuck then wanted out of his booster seat, so to prevent a meltdown I put him on the floor. Chuck went over to Samer ( who was still sharpening his claws) and started waving his hand at him and saying "No" and a bunch of other gibberish ( I mean Chuck talked to him for about 30 seconds). Samer jumped down and ran away and Chuck came back to the table to finish eating. So apparently, Chuck is disciplining cats now.

I promise I will put pictures up tomorrow of the little guy and his haircut visiting the zoo.

Dropped Chuck off in just in tine to have breakfast. He sat down, grabbed a spoon and dug in! His first bite he actually used the spoon!

Cat Lover

Yes we love our cats but we are very thankful they are loving being outdoors. I really need to put a doggie door in the back door fro Samer because he actually likes to cruise back and forth. Molly likes to sit in the front yard or under the grill in the back yard. Samer likes one flower bed in the back yard and he also ventures under the house.

We don't love cats as much as this gal:

Mashed Potatoes

About a month or so ago a friend's child was signing "more". SInce he is 5 months younger than Chuck I decided I would try to get him to do it.... for some reason I felt like I needed to catch him up even though we hadn't been doing any sign language. That night I was trying to teach him "more" and instead of signing it, he just said it. I thought why am I teaching my child to sign when he can just plain say it.

Last night Chuck and I fixed taters for dinner. When Dr. got home he put a bite in Chuck's mouth and Chuck signed "more" and said "more". I thought surely he didn't remember that from the one night that I had tried to teach him. He must have loved those potatoes because last night he was signing more and saying more for about an hour. He stood in the kitchen banging his hands together and then followed Dr. to the den and ate all his mashed potatoes.

I got a little bit on video and what I also got on video was Chuck's way of totally ignoring his mother. It's like sometimes I don't even exist.

Happy Father's Day

We celebrated Daddy's day a day early because Dr. had to work on Sunday. Chuck and Dr. spent some time reading Chuck's favorite book. He absolutely loves the photo book of his birth that Aunt Koko got us. We read it about 5 times each day and talk about all the people in the pictures. He likes to point at pictures of his Aunt and grand/great grand parents and kiss all the pictures of himself. He doesn't really recognize pictures of daddy since he had a beard when Chuck was born.

Chuck got Dr. some type for work bench that had to be put together. I am sure in a normal situation it would only take 5 minutes to put it together. It took them 3 hours to do it. Chuck thought it was the neatest thing to put this thing together. I will post a video later of Chuck doing all that he could to help daddy tighten the screws and stuff. He is totally all boy. He was immediately drawn to the tools and all the screws and loved banging on everything. He actually was a big help when Dr.'s hands were to big to get some of the screws in. Chuck really wanted to do it so Dr. let him.

The beach ball in the picture is too funny because they were working so hard to get this together and then Chuck would randomly toss the beach ball and go get it and then get back to work.
