Spaghetti?

This is what happens when 7 ER wives are pregnant...... well kinda..... that just means there are more marathon cooking days to come. Today, Chuck and I cooked 3 big pots of spaghetti. Some of the spaghetti is a Mommy Meal for one of the girls that had her baby. ( Everyone was so wonderful when Chuck arrived that we have so many people to pay back!) Another container is going to a friend at school that had stomach surgery a couple of weeks ago. There is a container for our dinner tonight and the rest will go in the freezer for the "mommy is too tired to cook days" once school starts. Unfortunately, I don't think this will make a dent in the "mommy is too tired to cook days" but at least I got a teeny head start.

Fair

We are going to take Chuck to his first fair. It isn't the tacky fair you are thinking of. It is the Neshoba County Fair. It happens once a year. They have horse races, political speeches and lots of other things. The coolest part are the houses that line the racetrack and create little neighborhoods. It is impossible to become owner of one unless it is passed down through family. One of the residents in Dr.'s class has a house there. For those of you that know what the Assembly is in Sewanee..... it is somewhat similar to that atmosphere ( as in the old houses) but then surrounded by fair things. Check out the website. Not too fancy but the pictures are great. Can't wait to go and see it!

Giraffes

Chuck has been drooling a lot lately. I don't think it is because he has a stopped up nose. For about the last two and a half weeks, Chuckers has been officially holding things. Just in the past few days, he has been reaching for things to grab. Aunt Coco gave him a cool little giraffe teething toy. Since the drool has been uncontrollable I thought I might see if he wanted to chew on something. It took him a while to figure out he could put it in his mouth, but now he doesn't want to part with the giraffe. It's very hard to dress someone when they refuse to let go of something... especially when it is a giraffe.

What you can't see is how soakes his clothes are. We are going to start wearing a bib 24/7

Chillin' at home

Well, Chuckers came down with a fever yesterday (Wednesday). At first he was 100.5 and Tylenol brought it back down to normal. Then it got to 101.5. So he had some more Tylenol and went to bed at 10. He slept from 10 to 5:30. The one night he sleeps through the night and I am ....... A. sleeping in his room with him and B. checking to make sure he was breathing through his stuffed up nose every 2 minutes. I did actually get 6 hours of sleep. Better than my usual 3.

I am now glad I kept him home Tuesday because I guess he really was sick. So today I thought he was going to be better. He woke up with no temperature and I got some laughs and smiles this morning which was nice because yesterday I wasn't getting anything. Today he got a fever around 2 at 100.5. I gave him some Tylenol. From about 4 until about 7:30 he cried. He would fall asleep for about 5 minutes then wake back up and cry. I finally woke Dr. up when I was about to run out in front of traffic ( only the second time I have felt like doing that which I think is good.)

I decided that his stomach was hurting him since he had not had a dirty diaper since Tuesday. So we followed with a suppository, then a bath, and now the Chuckman is sound asleep and mom is once again sane.

There you have it, a day in the life of the Mississippi Weber's. I think I was 2 pounds down on Monday but haven't been able to work out or walk all week so I am sure I gained 5 back. My knee is hurting even more and I haven't even done anything. I think it would be a good idea if I just started this week over or fast forward to next week. Ahhhhhhh.

Icky Sicky

First off, here is a picture of a little romper I got for Chuckers. Perfect for daycare. There is a girl in Jackson that makes a lot of monogrammed stuff ( for those on facebook it is "initially yours monogramming").

Second, I think our little guy is going to get confused about his name. I think one of his teachers has a speech impediment and calls him "TUCK".... which is adorable too! She loves him so much and runs to the door when we walk in so she can hold him. She gives him kisses and cuddles. I love it! When people talk to Chuck he does a half smile if he doesn't recognize them. If he knows you, he will give you a big grin. When he sees her or she talks to him, he just smiles. I want those smiles all for me but I couldn't ask for more out of his teachers. I have been taking him from 9:30 to 4 everyday. I just can't bear to start taking him at 6:45 yet.

Third, Chuckman is too big for the plastic baby bathtub. Maybe not too big, but too determined. He wants to get out of it, bad. I am afraid he is going to flip himself out even when i am holding onto him. The next bathtub gadget we have is for when he can sit on his own. So we have resorted to the kitchen sink. Just perfect for my little Buddha.

Chuck can sit up but needs help with his balance

How freaking adorable is this!

Fourth, Chuckaroo has his first cold. He does not have a runny nose but is mega congested and it is making him gag. The drainage down the back of his throat is not his friend. He does not have a fever and his diapers are still good ( if ya know what i mean). I kept him home from daycare because I didn't want him to have to deal with this drainage by himself. We have been sucking the gunk out and putting saline drops up his nose to help him out. We don't want to resort to medicine yet. I was sick about two weeks ago and then Dr. got sick ( and now has a sinus infection) and now little man has it. Poor guys. Our house is falling apart. I am glad we are getting the first cold out of the way before I start school in two and a half weeks. NOOOOOO. Dr. is still on nights for the rest of the month and I got the big 3 hours of sleep in the last 36 hours. I am becoming a pro at this whole no sleep thing.

What I am not becoming a pro at is this whole working out thing. I have been going but now I have tendinitis in my knee and could barely walk last night. I am going to have to nix the treadmill for a WHILE and just stick to the bike and elliptical. I still have been going walking at the mall so Chuck will stick with the routine of getting up and going in the morning. I am having this weird urge to do the Susan Komen 3-day walk again. For those of you who don't know, I did the Susan Komen 3-day back in 2004 or 2005 ( can't remember..... have washed the pain from my mind) in Kansas City. It is a 3 day walk raising money for breast cancer and you walk a total of 60 miles. It takes about 9 hours each day to walk 20 miles and then at night you sleep in tents. They have 18 wheelers where the trailers are bathrooms. It was a neat experience. Probably the hardest thing I have ever done ( yes, it surpasses pregnancy and childbirth... for me at least). It was also the most rewarding thing I had ever done. I walked every single mile. It really tests your inner strength. The neatest part was walking next to all the survivors. You start off with the team you signed up with but eventually you end up walking with people that walk the same pace as you. You meet so many people and hear so many great stories. The 3-day happens in about 12 cities every year ( A great way to see a city). It is starting the year off in Boston this year. I will have too look at the schedule for 2011.

Anywhoo, gotta go cook some brocoli. Adios for now.

Exersaucer

Dr. is on nights for the rest of the month so it was just me and little bit today. He is growing so fast! Next week we have our four month check up and shots! Just today he started grabbing things and his little bathtub is getting too small because all he wants to do is push his legs on the end and try to get up!

It was great being home with him today so I could understand his napping schedule that he was doing at daycare. He takes his naps around 12 to 2 and then wants to go back to sleep at 4 for about and hour or two. That is why he has been going to sleep the second I pick him up from daycare. Last night he only woke up once at 2 am so we will see how tonight goes.

I decided I would pull the exer-saucer out today. I saw a little girl in one at daycare and she is only a few weeks older than Chuckster. He absolutely loved it. I didn't know if he was going to be able to hold himself up since his back muscles aren't strong enough yet. At first he just stood/sat there and then after a couple of minutes he was absolutely out of control. Loved every minute of it! Sometimes he would lean forward and play with the toys and sometimes he would lean back to relax. He was putting his feet flat on the floor and even turning his chair a little bit!

The movie is a little fuzzy because he was so excited he couldn't stop moving.

Exhausted

Both of us.

Daycare just wears Chuck out. I am not sure if he trusts taking a nap at daycare yet. The second I put him in his car seat he is asleep. He has been asleep since he got in the car. That means he has skipped eating, skipped bath time, skipped diaper changes. He must be so tired from listening to all the other babies and watching the crawl around. He has been asleep for about 7 hours now. We will see what the rest of the night has in store. I know once I go to sleep he will begin his ritual of waking up three times a night.

Dr. has a cold and fever ( probably the one I had last week) so I had to mow the yard today. Our house looked like it had been foreclosed on and I was scared the neighbors were going to vote us off of the street. It looked like no one lived in our house. So I took my big self out there and mowed the yard and used the weed eater for the big hill. It was actually tons of fun ( i did it without the bag so it was not hard to push). It really did something for my OCD.... maybe the designs I can make in the grass, or seeing the grass get shorter and shorter. Not to mention, it was great exercise too. I do have to say that I hate the weed eating part, and have always been scared of the weed eater. Besides grass flying in my face and all over me, it was really heavy. I will take responsibility for all the divots on the side of our hill. I just couldn't control that dang thing. Anyways, I am proud of myself. No lost toes, pant legs, or (unfortunately) love handles. So I am beat, going to veg in bed since my baby won't wake up and spend time snuggling with me.

Came across this quote and liked it:

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says... 'Oh shit...she's awake!!'
