TIme Consuming

I have been away from the blog so long that they have totally changed it on me.  Geez.

I really don't have time to type anything.  I am a single mommy for the next month and a half so I must make the most of my time since we never know when we will have someone that wants to see the house.

I figured I would share a couple of pictures just to get you through to the next post ( whenever that may be.)

This is what keeps me so busy..... I mean besides work, husband( although Drew would argue that I don't pay attention to him..... I would have to agree, just can't seem to fit him in my schedule), and having a house for sale.

Potty

Yep. Someone just poopied and teetee-ed in the potty. Just sayin'

Shhhhh

I'm taking the day off.... I didn't tell anyone. Not my husband, not my child, not nobody. I knew if I even mentioned it then Chuck would be sick at home. For some reason that happens every time this mama takes a personal day; I wind up taking care of a sick someone.

I got my hair done this morning and now I am waiting for the adventure of taking a 2 year old for his 2 year old check up. Wish me luck, wish him luck, wish the nurses luck.

We have been away from the blog for awhile. Life is just happening too fast! We are closing on our house in Tyler on May 18th! I finish work on May 30th and Dr. graduates June 16th!

We are having fun raising this crazy two year old which still surprises me everyday. A few weeks ago, Chuck's friend across the street started counting. I freaked out because I can't get Chuck to count. I addressed it with his teacher ( who was in the middle of telling me that he is the most advanced in the class because he is the only one that knows his months).... ok. She said he can count but he only counts on good days. Go figure. So FINALLY I got him to start counting for me. He's hilarious. You can totally tell his favorite numbers by which ones he screams! Chuck loves number 11 but I think he sounds the cutest when he says 12.

He has been working on potty training too. He teeteed twice on the potty the other day and of curse we are working at home but we aren't a good about it as his teachers are. We are outside most of the time when we are home and he doesn't quite get the standing up part sooo..... I'm not pushing it. I figure he will do it when he wants to.

We are so thankful the weather has been beautiful for a while. We spend most of our time outside. We will miss all of our neighbors who let Chuck take over their yards, ride their yard ornament animals, and sit on their porches. We will especially miss our "girl"friend across the street. If Chuck sees Nellie outside, he will start yelling "Hey, Hey!" Nellie will yell back "Chuck, Chuck!" and they will start running towards each other.

We are also more impressed by bugs lately. We like to have bugs on our hands. It's cool. We discovered rolly pollies yesterday which was awesome but this past weekend, we found a ladybug!

Chuck really looks like a little boy. He is not a toddler. He is just plain boy. He growing like crazy ( stats to come after our appointment). His hair is my nemesis. It grows so fast I can't keep up. There is too much anxiety invovled in taking him somewhere to get it cut so I do it myself while he watches a movie or takes a bath. I thought I did a pretty good job this time!

Oh, and a real quick story.....
Since Chuck's daycare is part of a hospital, everyday we drive away and I go "there's the hospital". Chuck has started saying "Daddy work" in response. Dr. is back at work so we don't see him often. The other night Chuck asked where he was and I told him he was working. Chuck then proceeded to tell me that "Daddy works the hospital. Fall boo boo Daddy work." Yep son. Daddy works at the hospital and when people fall and get boo boos, Daddy helps them. Sweet child.

I laugh when I think a few posts back about my first real conversation with Chuck. Well my friends, he has blown that out of the water now. We are in constant conversation now!

Oh and....
The other night I was rocking Chuck and we were..... yep, talking.... and Chuck told me he wanted a baby in my tummy. I asked him if he wanted a sister like his friend Nellie or a brother. He replied that he wants a brother. Then I cried. The next day we went and drove past the miniature pony. He asked for a horse.

Don't mention it..... but I am taking tomorrow off too. I am hoping the shots don't give me a sick child at home tomorrow.

Mucho Dinero

Well we made a couple of hundred dollars at the yard sale. Not bad. We didn't put much work into it. We had been setting aside things for the last several months. I got everything out the day before and got up around 5 that morning to set everything up. I wanted to make sure the majority of things were done before Chuck got up. I think the hardest thing was worrying about how the day was going to turn out.

I prepared myself for my difficult two year old. I put his table in the driveway. I already had his drinks ready and his cereal. I made the sidewalk paint and found a coloring book he hadn't seen in a while. He thought he was in heaven getting to spend the entire day outside.

I sold the first thing around 6:30. Chuck didn't sleep in much and got up at 7. I put shoes on him and let him eat his cereal and run around in his jammies. I was so so so proud of the little guy. My worry was that he would see everything in Nellie's yard across the street and want to go over there. He did try and escape once. He got on his 4 wheeler and tried to ride down the hill in Ginger's yard. He cried but then got over it. The rest of the time he ran around in our yard. Our next door neighbors who are 2 and 5 came over and ran in and out of the back yard and house and Chuck was happy to follow. Chuck ate some lunch outside and around noon went down for a nap. WHile he napped I was able to clean up and put everything away. After naps, we went across the street, like I had promised, and played with Nellie.

Daddy made it home from Texarkana around 5:30 so we ordered some crawfish and had an impromptu crawfish boil with our neighbors. Chuck went down around 8 and slept until 8 the next day. ( So excited I got to sleep in.)

The yard sale wore us out. Chuck and I laid around on the couch all day yesterday except for one little jaunt outside. He was such a snuggle monkey yesterday. I could hardly keep my eyes open. I worked myself to death.

I am so excited I had today off. I am trying to catch up on everything since Dr.'s vacation has ended and I know the month of May he has to work everyday. We have a structural engineer coming just to check out the slant in the house. It was slanted when we bought it and obviously still is. A lot of people are passing on the house because they are worried about the slant. If we can either find that there is no problem or add a pier to alleviate any worries then I think we can get a buyer. A lot of people have walked away just because of it being tilted a little.

Yard Sale

Tomorrow, our street will have the first annual Seneca Avenue yard sale. There are about 5 families participating the first go round. I am not sure why I thought this would be a good idea with a two year old. I was going to just skip it but then decided to pull everything out. Now I am regretting it.

I am about to make some sidewalk paint and find other things to have on hand. Hopefully this will keep Chuck in the yard. If not, I will cover everything up and forego the whole yard sale thing and mingle with neighbors. This makes me have more anxiety than taking a two year old to Wal-Mart.

A happy hump day

I thought this was pretty funny.

We had a broker open house today. While having the open house, our realtor said a woman drove up that was interested in the house. She used to live on our street and wants to get back on our street. ( Our street is known for its friendliness.) She left saying she wanted to talk it over with her daughter. Well, mom and daughter will be back tomorrow at 11. Please, please, say a little prayer for you.... ( wait that's a little ditty from My Best Friend's Wedding)... Say a little prayer. This is perfect timing for us to close when we need to! There may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

We totally enjoyed the weather today. It was a bit damp from previous rains but it reminded me of my childhood. We used to go outside and come in when it was dark. We just ran and played. Chuck had a super time running around with his friends, Sam and Nellie. He talks about all of our neighbors all the time. First thing he talk about in the morning and last thing he mentions before closing his eyes. He even mentioned last night that he wanted to take one of our neighbors at sucker so when he got home today he went and got a sucker and insisted we go to their house. I am really hoping that our neighbors in Tyler are this loving and welcoming because they are going to have a two year old walking around in their yards.

Exhaustion

Well my friends, my child has found a new way to exhaust me. TALKING. Yes, Chuck has been talking for a while, but today he decided that he is going to talk non stop. Most of our sentences are complete with just a few unimportant words missing. The child talked my ear off from the time I walked into his classroom until he asked me for a kiss and a hug when I put him down.

When I walked into his classroom today he was getting his diaper changed. He immediately told me that he had poopied and that he washed his hands with soap. I had no idea that from that moment on I would not be able to speak or think for the rest of the afternoon.

Phew. In general I am pretty exhausted. I am getting anxiety about Dr. going back to work for the next 2 1/2 months and having to keep this place clean and raise a child ( oh, and work). I guess there is no need to stress too much about it because there's no stopping it! Next week is our 4th quarter midterms! That means only an 8th of the year is left!

This week is a four day work week and so is next week. I lucked out on this one and Chuck goes to school both Friday and Monday while I can relax ( and clean... I am in a constant cleaning state) at home all by myself. The next week, I had already requested 2 days off before our state tests at the beginning of May. After the tests, I will use up the remaining sick days I have. Even if we are not moving then, I will completely lie and say I have to go close, move stuff, whatever.

We have a broker open house tomorrow. We have gotten a good deal of rain around here lately. Chuck is obsessed with the outdoors so has a little tantrum when we come home in the afternoons because he wants to swim.

I will try and get a picture of him tomorrow with his new converse shoes on. I decided he needed more than 2 pairs of shoes so Dr. picked them out. Chuck continued his streak by insisting to sleep in his new shoes the first day he gets them. Whatever will make you go to sleep and not cry , son.
